Using science as a tool, we help businesses leverage sustainability for advantageous and strategically important impacts.
When you use data as a compass, it is easier to direct your company towards the path of long-term prosperity
Effective management of what has not been measured is challenging, so gathering data is key to devising a successful sustainability plan. CSRD data collection involves measuring information on sustainability matters in order to provide your company with critical insights needed to create and implement an impactful, winning strategy.
Given the limitations of secondary data, we use different approaches to collect original data that drive meaningful action
CSRD data collection is the acquisition of data on variables pertaining to sustainability reporting as required under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Although secondary data like industry average data or data obtained from various literature sources and pre-existing databases are useful, they cannot replace unique, primary data obtained firsthand and tailored to specific needs.
Assessing your data needs
We carefully listen to you to understand your goals and challenges. We then assess the discrepancy between data currently available at your company and data needed to reach your goals.
Data collection planning
Data needed are categorized as primary data or secondary data. For each type of data, we create a protocol for data collection. The protocol to collect primary data may include observations, experiments, interviews, focus groups, or surveys. Case studies may also be used to address certain questions and derive specific information. We then assign our experts to data collection tasks and set clear timelines.
Implementing data collection protocols
We roll up our sleeves to collect primary data. We use online interactions. Where online methods are not suitable for primary data collection, we conduct field work on-site. Secondary data are gathered through desk-based investigations.
Delivering actionable insights
Data are analyzed, and results are translated to provide you with information in plain language, which you can rely upon to develop an effective strategy.
Collected data are an asset you can use to create positive outcomes for your company
Reliable measures of impacts and financial risks and opportunities
CSRD data collection can help fill information gaps, improving precision of impact and financial materiality calculations—increasingly asked for by investors—and driving action for enhanced business success and resilience.
Better procurement
Primary data collection can increase granularity in supplier data, reducing reliance on guesswork and promoting better, more effective sourcing decisions.
More convincing disclosures
Up-to-date, verifiable information can be used to back sustainability claims and facilitate better alignment with the requirements of the EU directive on “empowering consumers for the green transition through better protection against unfair practices and through better information”.
